Change in the use of honours

On 9 October 2026, the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Grand Master of the Orders, approved the following amendment to the regulations governing the wearing of decorations:

When a dark suit or national dress is worn as formal attire, a maximum of one neck badge (worn on a ribbon bow by women) and one star may be worn simultaneously, in addition to decorations worn on the chest.

Recipients of the Grand Cross or Commander First Class may, when wearing a dark suit, simultaneously wear a maximum of one star and one neck badge in addition to decorations worn on the chest, regardless of the Orders from which they were received. The above provision also applies, where appropriate, to women’s attire corresponding to a dark suit.

Women may also wear miniature decorations with attire corresponding to a dark suit.
