Decorations of the orders of the White Cross of Finland and the Lion of Finland
Both orders have the following decorations:
- Grand Cross
- Commander First Class
- Commander
- Knight First Class
- Knight
In addition, the Order of the White Rose of Finland has a Cross of Merit and three medal classes:
- Cross of Merit
- Medal First Class with Gold Cross,
- Medal First Class and
- Medal
In addition, the Order of the Lion of Finland has a Cross of Merit and the Pro Finlandia Medal, which is given only to artists and writers.
The Grand Cross with collar of the Order of the White Rose of Finland is the highest decoration in Finland and its conferral is a special mark of honour that is reserved almost exclusively to heads of state. The decoration also becomes a special mark of honour if it is awarded with diamonds or a clasp. The clasps of the Lion of Finland Knight First Class and Knight are in the shape of the Olympic Games symbol, in gold for the Knight First Class and in silver for the Knight. The Grand Master determines the nature and form of the clasps.
