The Board of the Order of the Cross of Liberty presented the decorations of the Cross of Liberty, awarded by the Grand Master of the Order, President of the Republic Alexander Stubb, on 4^th of June 2025, at a ceremony held at the Finnish Knights’ Hall in Helsinki on Monday 2^nd of June 2025.

A total of 11 people were awarded.

• Chief warrant officer Jani Hartikainen (Medal of Liberty First Class of the Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Lieutenant colonel Jukka Honkanen (3rd Class with swords of the Order of Liberty)
• Senior coast guard Antti Asikainen (Medal of Liberty Second Class of the Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Lieutenant colonel Joni Lindeman (3rd Class with swords of the Order of Liberty)
• Senior coast guard Esko Hirvijoki (Medal of Liberty Second Class of the Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Secretary of personnel affairs Liisa Palonen (Medal of Merit 2nd Class of the Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Researcher Anitta Hannola (4th Class of the Order of Liberty)
• Lieutenant general Vesa Virtanen (1st Class with star and swords of the Order of Liberty)
• General Ari Puheloinen (Chancellor of Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Engineer first lieutenant Arto Karppelin (4th Class with swords of the Order of Liberty)
• Lieutenant commander Tuomas Runola (3rd Class with swords of the Order of Liberty)
• Rear admiral Timo Junttila (1st Class with swords of the Order of Liberty, Treasurer of Order of the Cross of Liberty)
• Lieutenant General Sakari Honkamaa (Vice Chancellor of Order of the Cross of Liberty)

In addition to the awardees, the ceremony was attended by invited guests from the top leadership of the Defence Forces and Border Guard. The wind quintet of the Guards Band performed at the event.
